Lizhou (Leo) Fan, PhD

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Hello, I’m Lizhou (Leo) Fan. I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the AI in Medicine program at Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School. I received a Ph.D. in Information from University of Michigan and a B.S. in Statistics from UCLA.


I have an interdisciplinary background with research interests in natural language processing, medical AI, health informatics, social computing, and data science. I work with data from electronic health records, social networks, and biosensors using emerging AI technologies. My current work focuses on aligning, evaluating, and democratizing large language models for clinical practice, medical education, and public health.
