Danielle Bitterman, MD

Principal Investigator

Hi, I'm Danielle. I'm an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, a radiation oncologist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and faculty member in the AI in Medicine program at Mass General Brigham.

As a physician-scientist, my focus is translating advances in AI, especially natural language processing, into improved patient outcomes and safer, more equitable health systems. I'm interested in how the language that we use to communicate in medicine can be unlocked, repurposed, and transformed to improve healthcare.

My most important job is supporting the members of my lab in (1) carrying out research that will have a tangible, positive impact on peoples' health and wellbeing and (2) achieving their professional and scientific goals.
